Sati Pasala mindfulness facilitators have been invited by the doctors of the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama to conduct mindfulness programs for children between 6 years t& 15 years.

The series of mindfulness programs due to commence on May 2nd will deal with coping with the stress of having to be in a hospital bed for several hours/days at a stretch. Older children worry about missing school, especially in connection to important exams like GCE O’levels and A’levels. Having to cope with pain and anxiety or fear, are other areas that will be taken into consideration.

These children will be experiencing simple mindfulness practices for the first time.

The Sati Pasala Mindfulness Facilitators will design very interesting and attractive programs, commencing on May 2nd.

Doctors from the Counseling unit of the Apeksha hospital will join the Facilitators during the mindfulness sessions.

It is hoped that the patients’ mothers will also join in the days to come and eventually it is planned to expand this program to the staff at the hospital.
