Sati Pasala or How to Practice Mindfulness

Sati Pasala at Bulathgama Vidyalaya, Balangoda

New Hopewell & Wikiliya Team had made a remarkable effort giving leadership towards development of mindfulness.

New Hopewell & Wikiliya team organized another Sati Pasala program at Bulathgama Vidyalaya on 10th September 2018. About 120 school students and 10 teachers participated at this programme and the session ran from 12.30pm to 2.30 pm.

The program was conducted by Ven. Athurugiriye Dhammawihari Thero under the direct guidance of the Managing Director – Mr. Ranjana Gamini Walpola.

Some students already participated for earlier programmes and the majority of students were new to the Sati Pasala program.  Being in the present moment was introduced through,
* Mindful Sitting
* Mindful Walking
* Mindful Gaming

After the session, some students shared their experience gained with others. Mindfulness definitely helps students to tune out distractions, improve memory, decision-making, attention skills and so on.
