Sati Pasala or How to Practice Mindfulness

The Wayamba Sati Pasala Centre opened doors on Independence Day

On Friday 4th February 2022, the Sati Pasala Wayamba Team in collaboration with the Kelimune Sati Pasala launched a tree planting ceremony and mindfulness practice day to commemorate the 70th birthday of the Sati Pasala Founder and Chief Incumbent of the Nissarana Vanaya Forest Monastery, Most Venerable UdaEriyagama Dhammajiva Thero, and the opening of the Wayamba Sati Pasala Centre situated in Wariyapola adjacent to the Nathagane Forest Reserve.

Seventy seedlings and plants were transplanted by the Wayamba Sati Family and their invited guests on the 2-acre plot neighbouring the Nathagane Forest Monastery.

Agenda for the Opening Ceremony

07:30 – 08:00  Arrival of invitees and greet and meet time with Sati Pasala Family.
08:00 – 09:00  Religious Observances.
Welcome Address by Mrs Nanda Dissanayake of Kelimune Sati Pasala.
Keynote Address by the Chief Incumbent of Nathagane Forest Monastery.
Address by Ms Mallika Jayarathne, the Wayamba Coordinator for Sati Pasala Foundation on the Future of the Wayamba Sati Pasala Centre.
Address by Mrs Dumindra Wedande, the Deputy Director of Education, Kurunegala on the growth and development of the Sati Pasala in Wayamba.
09:00 – 09:45  Planting of the 70 seedlings in the 2 acre-plot of Wayamba Sati Pasala Centre.
09:45 – 10:15  Mindful Sitting guided by Mrs Samanthi Dilshani of Wayamba Team.
10:15 –10:45   Gilanpasa and Tea Break.
10:45 – 11:15  Mindful Activities with Master Trainers.
11:15 – 12:00  Mindful Games with Master Trainers.
12:00 – 12:20  Closing Address and Note of Appreciation.
12:20                End of the Opening Ceremony.
