Sati Pasala or How to Practice Mindfulness

Sati Pasala Program for Sri Jayawardenapura University Students

Sati Pasala program was conducted for 30 students who are following a Diploma in Buddhist Counseling conducted by the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Ven. Viloye Sarananda thero invited Sati Pasala Foundation to conduct a session for the group of 30 who were taking part in a retreat at the Paramitha Meditation Center in Kadugannawa.

The group also included 7 venerable thero’s engaged in Mindful Listening, Mindful Eating, and several Mindful Games. Mindful Walking and Sitting was conducted as a part of the retreat hence the allocated time was mainly utilized for Mindful Games. A discussion was also conducted at the end of the program and participants acknowledged the importance of spreading the Mindful message among the higher education sector. Prof. M. D. D. I. Gunathilaka, Head of the Department also attended the program.
