Sati Pasala or How to Practice Mindfulness

Sati Pasala program at Koongasthenna Maha Vidyalaya

Sati Pasala program was held at Koongasthenna Maha Vidyalaya on 28th July 2019 for students and teachers along the day. There were three sessions for three groups of students and teachers and after the last session another session for teachers and prefects to establish Sati Sangamaya.

The teachers and students were very committed to Sati pasala. There are more than 700 students and teachers participated in these programs. The first session was from 8.00am to 11.30am for grade 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 students, the second program was from 11.45am to 12.45pm for grade 3,4 and 5 students, the third program was from 1.00pm to 3.00pm for grade 11,12 and grade 13 students and the last program was ran after 3.00pm.

Directed the students to implement several mindful activities such as mindful walking, mindful sitting, mindful eating, mindful listening and mindful games as well. The school teachers and prefects have given their maximum contribution to us to organize those programs. The program was conducted by Ven. Kurunegala Sobitha Thero and the entire school children and teachers were covered in a very productive and efficient way. They ask another program for their school.

They shared their experiences with others at the end of the program. After the programs end there was another discussion with teachers and prefects of the school. Sati Sangamaya was established in that school. There was a discussion about how to control our feelings and emotions.
